Katagiri Residence

print
update: Nov 25,2009
The former villa residence of the Katagiri family, who became successful in the electronic world, was donated by daughter, Kimie Kawahara in October 26, 1998.  In 1998, Mr. Katsuzo Katagiri built this two-storey Japanese house made of wood and traditional tile-roofing. Mr. Katagiri was involved in different types of architecture. The layout was pure Japanese but the concept was concentrated in the western style, which at that time was considered a modern structure. The garden stones used were transported from Nagadoro of Saitama Prefecture. In 2001, it was opened as a cultural heritage institution.
