The danger that goes with neglecting traffic rules and the deteriorating manners has become a big problem. When riding a bicycle, always observe the traffic rules and proper manners.

Violations in Bicycle Riding

Two-riders (Road Traffic Law Article 55, Clause 1, Article 57, Clause 2 )

A fine of 50,000yen or less, or probably, 20,000yen or less will be imposed
(However, a rider aged, 16 and above may ride together with a child aged, 6 years and below, by attaching a child's seat on the bicycle.

Riding in rows (Road Traffic Rules Article 19)

A fine of 20,000yen or less will be imposed
(Except for places where riding in rows is allowed)

Neglecting the Stop Line (Road Traffic Law Article No. 43)

Imprisonment of 3 months or less and/or paying a fine of 50,000yen and above

Driving at Night with the Lamplight Out (Road Traffic Law Article No. 52, Item 1)

Paying a fine of 50,000yen or less (same penalty goes for neglecting to switch)

Obstructing the Pedestrian Lane (Road Traffic Law Article 17, Item 2)

Imprisonment of 3 months or less and/or paying a fine of 50,000yen and above

Drunken Driving (Road Traffic Article No. 65)

Imprisonment of 5 years or less and/or paying a fine of 1,000,000yen
