Manyo Botanical Gardens

This Japanese-style garden has been created in the flat area of the Ono wildlife area, and features a collection of plants mentioned in the Manyoshu, with Japanese tanka poems displayed alongside.  The garden features streams, a lake, azumaya (Japanese summer house), fujidana (wisteria trellises), ishidoro (stone lanterns), and tsukubai (washing wells).
 
Rest areas and exhibition rooms are located on the first floor of the administrative building and are available for your convenience.  On the second floor of the administrative building there is a reference room, library, and a 16-tatami mat Japanese-style training room.  The training room is available for events such as poetry parties, writing parties, and other study gatherings.  You must make a telephone reservation with the Green Zone Division beforehand.
 
Entrance and use of facilities are free.
