Call 119 in case of fire or medical emergencies. In case you are calling from a cellular phone, you can also dial 119. First of all, call and state the nature of the emergency in the following ways:

In Case of Fire

  1. Kaji desu. (Fire!)
  2. Apaato ga moete imasu (Explain what is on fire: "The apartment is on fire.")
  3. Ichikawa XX chome XX ban XX shogako no mae desu. (Give address and location, landmarks etc. of the spot i.e.: "It located near the XXX Elementary School at the address XXX")

In Case of a Medical Emergency

  1. Kyukyusha wo onegai shimasu (Please send an ambulance)
  2. Atama kara chi wo nagashita otoko no hito ga taorete imasu (Give a description of the nature of the incident i.e.: "There is a man lying bleeding from the head")
  3. Watashi wa XXX desu (State your name-"I am XXX calling.")

    Gives recorded information about fire disasters.

    Using a Fire Extinguisher

    1. Pull the pin at the top of the cylinder
    2. Aim the nozzle at the base of the fire.
    3. Squeeze or press the handle.
