1. Outline of vaccination for children (5 to 11 years old)
- The 3rd shot for children（5～11 years old） will be started. The 3rd vaccination voucher were sent for those who received the 2nd dose of a vaccine by the end of June.

- An increasing proportion of all COVID-19 cases is accounted for by children in Japan. Please check the following information from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) and consider together with your child whether he/she should get vaccinated.

Those aged 5 to 11 who live in Ichikawa city and wish to get vaccinated (by the day before their 12th birthday).
*For those who are about to turn 12 years old, vaccines for 12 years or older will be administered from the day before their 12th birthday.
*For those who are about to turn 5 years old, they can get vaccinated from the day before their 5th birthday.
*Vaccination is especially recommended for children with underlying medical conditions, such as chronic respiratory disease and congenital heart disease, which have a high risk of severe illness. Please consult with your doctor carefully about vaccination in advance.
（2） Dates of sending out vaccination vouchers【1st and 2nd shot】
*Vaccination vouchers for those who will turn 5 years old in April 2022 or later will be sent out in the month prior to their birth month.
*Vaccination vouchers for those who will turn 12 years old on and after March 2 2022 are to be sent out on February 25.
Vaccination vouchers (for 12 years or older) for those who will turn 12 years old before March 2 2022 were sent out in late January.
Vaccination voucher were sent for those who received the 2nd dose of a vaccine by the end of June, and appointments can be made as soon as you receive your voucher.

（4） Vaccines to be used and the interval up to a second dose
Pfizer vaccines for children will be administered. (Compared to Pfizer's vaccine for children aged 12 and older, the active ingredients are reduced by one-third.) As a standard rule, a second dose should be administered 3 weeks after the first dose. In case of lapsing the standard interval period, there is no need to restart from the first dose. It is advisable to get a second vaccine as quickly as possible. In case a child turns 12 years old before his/her second dose of a vaccine, vaccines for children will be administered for a second vaccine as well.In case his/her first dose is administered after a child turns 12 years old, vaccines for 12 years or older will be used (The same vaccination voucher can be used for a vaccine for 12 years or older. ) For details, please see the link here.
（5） Vaccine efficacy, safety, and adverse reaction
The national government has reported that in foreign countries, the efficacy of the vaccine in preventing the onset of COVID-19 after 7 days from the second vaccination was 90.7%, and the vaccine was shown to be safe during a follow-up period of about 2 months after the second vaccination. As for adverse reactions, pain at the injection site was the most common, accounting for about 70% in both the first and second doses. A fever of 38 degrees Celsius or higher was experienced by 2.5% of the case respondents after the first dose, and 6.5% after the second dose. Symptoms after vaccination were reported to be mild or moderate in most cases.
（6） Precautions for vaccination・In case other vaccines are to be administered before or after COVID-19 vaccination, in principle, please allow 13 days or longer between COVID-19 vaccination and the other vaccination. But, influenza vaccine is an expansion.
・Please contact your school for information concerning school attendance at the time of vaccinations or in case of developing a fever or showing cold-like symptoms after vaccination.
2 How to make an appointment
（1）【Preparation for the appointment】Prepare the vaccination voucher
The city has sent eligible residents an envelope containing the vaccination voucher. To make a vaccination appointment, the "voucher number" written on your voucher is needed in addition to your name and date of birth (in the western calendar).
Vaccines are inoculated twice per person. Please make appointsments for your 1st and 2nd dose at the same time.
- ※If you have an underlying medical condition, please be sure to consult with your family doctor whether or not you can be vaccinated. It is also advisable that your family doctor administer the vaccination, if you have a family doctor.
- ※In case a child turns 12 years old before his/her second dose of a vaccine, vaccines for children will be administered for a second vaccine as well.
- ※In case his/her first dose is after a child turns 12 years old, please select the vaccines for 12 years or older.

3 Signing up for the waiting list(1) Outline
A waiting list will automatically open when appointments for one week are fully booked (all medical institutions are fully booked).

(2) How to use the service
1. Apply for the waiting list from here.
2. When a cancellation is made where you are on the waiting list, the call center will call you at the phone number you provided when you applied.
3. If the vaccination site and time suit you, your appointment will be booked. You need to arrive the vaccination site within an hour after receiving the call.
(3) Cautions -The call center will call you in the order in which you apply. Please note, in case you didn’t answer the phone, the next person in line may get an appointment first.
-After you are on the wating list, you cannot change the content of your application. If you need to change, please cancel your application first from the link listed in the e-mail sent to you and apply again.
4 On the day of vaccination

・Signature of a parent is necessary on the preliminary examination form.

4.COVID-19 vaccination certificate

5.Health damage relief system concerning COVID-19 vaccines
When the Health, Labour and Welfare Minister approves that damage to health was a result of vaccination, one can receive payment (medical expenses and disability pension, etc.) based on the Immunization Act.
