1.Updates on COVID-19

Vaccination certificates are issuable at convenience store

Vaccination certificates are issuable on a kiosk terminal (multi-copy machine) at a convenience store.
● Things you need to bring:
1. Your Individual Number Card
2. Vaccination certificate issuance fee (120 yen per copy)
● Hours: 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. everyday
● Serviceable convenience stores in the city:
Seven Eleven (More stores may be added in the future.)
● Note:
In order to obtain a certificate for overseas travel at a convenience store, vaccination apps or a paper certificate for overseas travel that was issued after July 21, 2022 is required.

2.Special sales of Ichikawa pears

Chiba Prefecture is the biggest pear producer in Japan. Among many pears produced in Chiba Prefecture, “Ichikawa-no-nashi” (Ichikawa pears) are particularly seen as the best in terms of flavor, quality and production. The hailstorm in June this year caused damage to the pear crops in Ichikawa. You may see cuts and wounds on the surface, but they taste the same as normal pears. The special sales of those pears will be held this year. Please note, the schedule may change or be cancelled due to the weather or other reasons. Sales will end at either venue once the products are sold out.

1. Monday, August 29 through Wednesday, August 31 from noon respectively.
2. Saturday, September 10 from 10 a.m.

Other sales venues

In addition to grocery stores in the city and Road Station Ichikawa, 80 percent of local produce is sold at pear farmers’ markets in about 120 locations. For more information about the pear famers’ markets, please see the JA Ichikawa’s official website.

3.Tax deadline approaching soon

Wednesday, August 31 is the deadline for the 2nd term municipal tax and the 2nd term national health insurance tax. Tax payment is accepted at convenience stores and on the internet as well.

4.Have you received your new national health insurance membership card?

National Health Insurance membership cards were renewed on August 1. The city has sent out the cards (yellow) to members by registered mail. Please contact the city if your card hasn’t arrived.
