1. Three types of support for disaster prevention in Ichikawa

This year marks one hundred years since the Great Kanto Earthquake in 1923.
Three types of support: your own preparation, support between yourself and your neighbors and public support.

≪This month’s notice≫ － Have emergency kits ready so that you can evacuate at any moment
In case of a disaster when you might possibly need to evacuate, have your emergency items ready in a backpack so that you can have your both hands free, and keep them in a handy place. Checking the items every now and then to see if they are still usable and/or edible is important. Think about the kinds of items you will need depending on your family members.

【Examples of emergency items】
Cash, spare key for your house and car, emergency food, water, clothes, umbrella, rain jacket, flashlight, mobile battery, spare optical glasses, batteries, writing materials, tissues, towel, toothbrush, slippers, diapers, nursing products, sanitary products, medicine, elderly care items, face masks, etc.

2. Kirameki 2023 – The Senbon Icho tree illumination

A national natural monument, Senbon Icho（translated as one thousand ginkgo trees）will be lit for two days this month. On the street connecting to the shrine, local children’s hand-made paper lanterns will be displayed. Here is a video from last year.

3. Invitation to one-day experience of becoming zookeepers

The Ichikawa City Zoological and Botanical Gardens offers fellow residents a special Christmas present to become one-day zookeepers. Lucky residents will not only get to experience cleaning the zoo and feeding animals, but also they will create zoo signs and check on animals’ heartbeats.

Monday, December 25 from 9:50 a.m. to 3 p.m.（Rain or shine）

【Eligibility】
Grade 4 to 6 children. About 20 people will be chosen by a lot.

4. Your cooperation to reduce household waste is much appreciated

This is an emergency notice. On October 18, a problem occurred at the Clean Center causing the incinerators to stop. Two of the three incinerators are currently offline at the moment. The cause of the problem is under investigation, and the city will repair the incinerators accordingly. We thank you for your cooperation to reduce household waste.

りょうてを　つかうことが　できる　りゅっく（せなかに　せおう　ばっぐ）などに　ひなんを　したときに　ひつような　ものを　いれて　すぐに　もちはこぶことが　できる　ばしょに　おいておきましょう。りゅっくの　なかに　いれた　ものを　ときどき　かくにんして　まだ　つかえるか　かくにんしましょう。りゅっくに　いれるものは　じぶんや　かぞくが　ひつような　ものを　かんがえて　よういしてください。

かつしかはちまんぐうに　ある「くにしてい　てんねんきねんぶつ　せんぼんいちょう」を　ひかりで　あかるく　します。じんじゃの　みちには　ちいきの　こどもたちが　かみの　ぱっくで　つくった　とうろう（ひかりで　あかるくする　かざり）を　かざります。きょねんの　らいとあっぷは　ここから　みることが　できます。

3. しいくいん（どうぶつの　せわを　する　ひと）1にちたいけん 「たのしいく」を　おこないます

どうしょくぶつえんから　くりすますの　おくりものが　あります。どうぶつえんの　そうじを　したり　えさ（どうぶつが　たべる　ごはん）を　あげたりする　しいくいんの　しごとを　たいけんしたい　ひとを　しょうたいします。かんばんを　つくったり　どうぶつの　しんぞうの　おとを　きいたりすることも　できます。

4. ごみを　へらす　きょうりょくを　おねがいします

きんきゅう（すぐに　やらなくては　いけないこと）の　おしらせです。10がつ　18にちに　くりーんせんたーでもんだいが　おきました。しょうきゃくろ（ごみを　もやす　きかい）が　とつぜん　とまって　いまは　3つの　しょうきゃくろの　1つしか　ごみを　もやすことが　できません。もんだいの　げんいんを　しらべて　なおす　よていです。いちかわしに　すんでいる　みなさんは　ごみを　へらす　きょうりょくを　おねがいします。
