1. Beware of phone fraud!

The scope of phone fraud continues to grow. Criminal techniques have become more complicated, and even the younger generation is subject to phone fraud. Everyone needs to take precautions to protect their assets and safety.

It’s an emergency! The cost of damages has reached 407,890,000 yen.

Between January and July 2025, the amount of damages in Ichikawa City reached 407,890,000 yen, surpassing the annual damages in 2024 by 156,860,000 yen in just seven months.

How to prevent frauds:

（1）Learn about the criminal techniques.

Be wary of conversations relating to monetary topics over the phone, email or postcard, as well as instructions to go to the ATM, as these are the sings of fraud. It is advisable to collect information from the news, newspaper, or the Chiba Prefecture Police website to learn about the criminal techniques that are constantly evolving.

（2）Do not answer calls from unknown numbers! There are ways to protect yourself from phone fraud.

Always activate your answering machine and do not answer calls from unknown numbers. Using spam call prevention features provides more assurance.

• Conversation recording feature: A message plays, cautioning callers that the phone conversation is being recorded to prevent crime, which may deter criminals.
• The incoming call automatic refusal feature: the feature allows users to automatically refuse incoming calls from numbers that have been used for fraud in the past. Users can set it to automatically refuse incoming calls from numbers used for fraud, or to accept or reject designated numbers. Users will also be notified when receiving such calls. （Please contact your provider.）
• Deactivate international phone call service: You can deactivate incoming and outgoing international phone calls. （Please contact your provider.）

（3）Consult someone if you feel anxious.

2. The Ichikawa Germany Day 2025 will be held for two days this year!

The Ichikawa Germany Day 2025 will be held next month as part of an exchange program with our partner city, the City of Rosenheim in Bavaria, Germany.
It is a fun event for all ages. Programs include beer and sausage sales, general merchandise sales, interior accessory workshops, and live German music performances（Saturday, October 4 only）. For more information, please see the Ichikawa City official website.

「でんわdeさぎ」は　でんわを　つかった　さぎ（ただしくない　じょうほうを　つかって　ひとから　おかねを　とること）です。おかねを　とられている　ひとが　ふえています。てぐち（ひとを　だます　ほうほう）が　ふくざつ（むずかしくなること）に　なって　わかい　ひとも　おかねを　とられています。たいせつな　おかねを　とられないように　じぶんたちが　できることを　しましょう。

さぎを　ふせぐ　ほうほう

（1）てぐちを　しろう

「でんわや　めーる、はがきでの　おかねの　はなし」や　「ATMに　いって」は　さぎです。
にゅーすや　しんぶん　けいさつの　うえぶさいとなどで　じょうほうを　みて　ふくざつになる　さぎの　てぐちを　しることが　たいせつです。

（2）しらない　ばんごうからの　でんわには　でない！でんわへの　たいさく（もんだいを　なくすための　ほうほう）で　ひがいを　ふせぐことが　できます

いえに　いるときも　るすばんでんわを　つかって　しらない　ばんごうからの　でんわには　でないようにしましょう。でんわきに　めいわくでんわぼうしきのうが　あると　あんしんです。
