1. Seasonal flavors of Ichikawa

There are a variety of specialties in Ichikawa City. “Ichikawa tomatoes” sell out very quickly at sales events. “Ichikawa green onions” are thick and sweet. “Ichikawa strawberries” are directly sold at local farmers’ stores. “Gyotoku seaweed” is available in limited areas. “Hard clams” are now Chiba Prefecture-branded shell fish.

Road Station Ichikawa

They carry fresh produce and Ichikawa specialties including Ichikawa seaweed. Italian vegetables that are not familiar to many residents such as beets, kale and Swiss chard are also sold.

Local agricultural products are sold regularly.
Sales dates and times: Gyotoku branch (1-6-2, Minato Shinden), every Thursday from 10 am and every Saturday from 1:30 pm.
Myoden branch (1-6-16, Tomihama), every Thursday from 10 am

2. Disposing/Changing ownership of motorbikes and small automobiles

Tax on small automobiles is imposed on a registered owner on April 1 every year. If you need to notify the city regarding disposing/changing ownership, please do so by Friday, March 31 at City Hall.

3. Shimosa/Edogawa Two-day March

The Shimosa/Edogawa Two-day March is a walking event to visit scenic places in Ichikawa and its vicinity. Ten courses are available. Please select the one you like. At the main venue, Sports Center, there will be various booths and stage performances. For more details, please see the event pamphlet or the Ichikawa City official website.

Advanced application: 1,000 yen for two days
Application on the day of the event: 600 yen for one day
Free of charge for junior high school students and younger, persons with disability (with one care giver).
2,000 yen for advanced application (2 days) and 1,200 yen for application on the day of the event unless you are living, working or studying in Ichikawa City.

4. Higashiyama Kaii Memorial Hall Music Concert

Date and time:

Friday, March 24, 6:30 pm to 7:45 (Doors open at 6 pm)

Scheduled music:

String Duo No.2 (Mozart), Duo in C Major for Violin and Viola, JS66 (Sibelius), Little Rose of the Field / Der Linderbaum / Erlkönig (Schubert), etc.

Quota:

80 persons on lottery (children must be over elementary school age)

1,000 yen

How to apply:

Please apply from the event portal site, or send a reply-paid postcard (up to 2 persons per postcard) to Higashiyama Kaii Memorial Hall (272-0813, 1-16-2, Nakayama, Ichikawa City) by Monday, March 6 with the postal codes, addresses, names with furigana, ages/grades, telephone/fax numbers of all people who want to come to the event. Please also write “March 24 Concert” in addition to your information. Postcard must arrive by March 6.

5. COVID-19 vaccines updates

Extension of vaccination period is under consideration by the national government.
The vaccination system is being set up in Ichikawa City based on the national government policy so that vaccines can be administered as quickly as possible. The details will be announced on the Ichikawa City official website when the information becomes available.
