1. Regional digital currency ICHICO – a promotional campaign is about to begin

Designed to revitalize our regional economy and resident activities, “ICHICO” is a form of digital currency that uses your smart phone or ICHICO card. One ICHICO value is calculated as one yen when you make a payment in designated shops in the city.

ICHICO campaign

You receive premium points when you top up ICHICO values, and you can use them for shopping and/or dining.

Premium points

Thirty percent of the value you add will be given to you as premium points.

Point reimbursement

One percent of your ICHICO payment will be reimbursed as points depending on the amount of your payment.

ICHICO campaign application is open for interested participants

The city is accepting applications for ICHICO campaign participants.
Application is open until Tuesday, March 28.
Notification of results is scheduled to be sent out around Friday, May 5.
Eligibility: Registered residents of Ichikawa City as of Tuesday, March 28.
Quota: 10,500 persons for app users and 4,500 persons for card users. (In case of too many applicants, winners will be selected by lots.)
Top-up limit: 30,000 yen per person
Period of use: Premium points are valid from Monday, May 22 through Thursday, August 31.
The value you add as well as reimbursed points are valid after Thursday, August 31 for a certain period of time.

How to apply

Please select whether you want to be an app user or a card user. Please note, some stores only accept app values. Multiple applications by the same applicant will be invalid.

For app users

1. Download “chiica” on your smartphone.

2. Complete registration on the app.
3. Apply via website “For ICHICO users”

For card users

Fill out an application form and send it to the ICHICO office (Postal code: 272-8501, No address necessary) by Tuesday, March 28 (postmarks must be stamped by the date) together with a return envelope. (On a 120mm x 235mm envelope, please stamp a 94-yen postal stamp, and write your address and name.)
Application forms are available at:
City Hall Building 1 and 2, the Gyotoku branch office, the Ogashiwa branch office, City Administration Service Center at Ichikawa Station, Minami-Gyotoku Civic Center, community centers and other offices. It is also downloadable from the Ichikawa City official website.

2. Remember to re-register your information for the National Pension

Re-registration is required at the time of retirement, salary increase and divorce, etc. You also need to notify the city when you become a non-dependent because of your spouse’s retirement.

3. More convenient ways to pay taxes are introduced from April 1

Municipal tax payment system (eLTAX)

By reading a QR code printed on a payment slip and using the eLTAX site, tax becomes payable with credit card and smartphone payment app.

City/prefectural tax (general collection), fixed property tax, city planning tax, fixed property tax (depreciable tax), light vehicle tax (by type) and national health insurance tax

By reading a barcode printed on a payment slip, taxes and other fees will become payable via auPAY and dPay.

Taxes and fees that become payable:

City/prefectural tax (general collection), fixed property tax, city planning tax, fixed property tax (depreciable property), light vehicle tax (by type), national health insurance tax, medical insurance for elderly persons, long-term care insurance premiums, nursing school daycare fees, nursery school lunch fees, kindergarten daycare fees, cemetery management fees, housing rental fees, after-school care club fees, bicycle and other parking fees and school lunch fees.

4. COVID-19 vaccine updates

The COVID-19 vaccination period has been extended until May 7.

Persons aged 5 to 11

For persons who wish to get their second or more boosters, the city will begin administering bivalent vaccines. Bivalent vaccines will be available in some individual medical institutions in the city.
For persons with underlying medical conditions who received the first booster before February 7, 2023, if they get a bivalent booster by Sunday, May 7, they can get another bivalent booster after three months pass.

Vaccination without reservations becomes available from April in City Hall Building 1 and the Gyotoku branch office

• Please bring a vaccination voucher that indicates your previous vaccination date.
• Please bring your ID.
• Vaccinations may end early in case of reaching a daily quota. Making reservations is highly advisable.
• Reception is closed between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
