1. Let’s go to festivals
Gyotoku Festival 2025
With the theme “Gyotoku, the town of the best portable shrine,” the city will host a fun-filled festival including a portable shrine parade, food trucks, merchandise vendors, and performances by local residents. The Gyotoku Crime Prevention Festa event and Gyotoku Halloween event will also be held. Some streets around Minami Gyotoku Park will be closed. Date and time
Sunday, October 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will be cancelled in case of inclement weather.
A hotline （Tel: 047-359-1111） will be available after 3 pm on October 25 to announce if the festival will be held or cancelled.

Ichikawa Residents’ Festival
It’s the biggest festival in the city. There will be stage performances, various vendors and PR booths. The 50th anniversary commemorative tote bags will be given to one thousand visitors this year. For more information, please see the official website＜外部リンク＞. The October 17 issue of the Ichikawa PR paper will also have an article on the festival.

2. The city offers interest-free loans to help cover entrance preparation fees
The city offers interest-free loans to help parents/guardians cover part of entrance preparation fees if they have difficulty financing for their children’s entry into high school, technical school, junior college or university. Each applicant undergoes a screening process. Please apply early, as applications are accepted even before entrance exam results become available.
Loan caps
High school（including colleges of technology）: public - 100,000 yen, private - 300,000 yen
Technical school（specialized curriculum must be more than two years.）: public - 150,000 yen, private - 400,000 yen
Junior college: public - 200,000 yen, private - 400,000 yen
University: public - 250,000 yen, private - 500,000 yen
Eligibility
Applicants must meet all of the following conditions:
- Parents/guardians must live in Ichikawa City.
- Parents/guardians are having difficulty securing the admission preparation fees（income cap applies.）
- There is a guarantor who does not live in the same household. （Income and age requirements apply.）
Application
Please submit the completed application form to the Division of Compulsory
Education by Monday, February 2, 2026. Application forms are available at junior and high schools in Ichikawa City.

3. Your support for the government crowdfunding initiative to support community cats would be appreciated
The city is going to set up a hub in the Botanical Garden this winter to support activities relating to community cats. The city is currently fundraising on the Government Crowdfunding platform with the goal of creating a society where humans and animals can live comfortably together. This will be achieved through activities such as adoption meetings and finding homes for homeless cats. This donation is tax-deductible in the same way as regular hometown tax payment. Your contribution would be much appreciated!
Usage
Your donation will support the hub’s general operations, including the purchase of cat food, medical fees, and the organization of adoption events.

4. Let’s play sports together!
Join us for physical activities to improve health and physical strength.

ぎょうとくまつり2025の てーま（おだい）は 「にほんいちの みこし（おまつりで かみさまが のる くるま）の まち ぎょうとく」です。みこしが いろいろな ばしょを まわります。きっちんかー（たべものを つくって うる くるま）や もぎてん（ものを うる みせ）も でます。しみんすてーじ（しみんが おどりや うたなどを みせること）も あります。ぎょうとくぼうはんふぇすた（おまつりの なまえ）と ぎょうとくはろうぃん（おまつりの なまえ）も いっしょに おこないます。みなみぎょうとくこうえんの まわりでは こうつうきせい（どうろを とおれないように すること）を おこないます。くわしい じょうほうは こちらの うぇぶさいと＜外部リンク＞を みてください。

こどもが こうとうがっこう、せんしゅうがっこう、たんきだいがく、だいがくへ はいるための じゅんびに ひつような おかねに こまっている ひとへ おかねを かします。おかねを かりたい ひとは しんさ（おかねを かすことが できるか どうか しらべること）が あります。がっこうに ごうかくする まえでも しんせいできます。はやめに もうしんでください。

3. ちいきねこ（ちいきの ひとが せわを している ねこ）を たすけるための ばしょを つくります
いちかわしでは この ふゆ かんしょうしょくぶつえんの なかに ちいきねこを たすけるための ばしょを つくります。じょうとかい（ねこと いっしょに くらしたい ひとを さがすための かい）を ひらいたり ねこの さとおや（かいぬしに なる ひと）を さがしたりして ひとと どうぶつが いっしょに くらすことが できる しゃかいを つくります。GCF（がばめんと くらうどふぁんでぃんぐ）による きふ（おかねを あげること）を うけつけます。この きふは ふるさとのうぜいと おなじように ぜいこうじょを うけることが できます。みなさんからの きふを おまちしています。
