1. Let’s enjoy summer nights!
It will soon be hot and humid. The heat becomes more tolerable after sunset. We will introduce you to two summer nighttime events that will make you want to go out!
Aquatica Lateralis Firefly Watching:
Visitors can watch wild fireflies in Omachi Nature Park.
【Dates】
From Saturday, July 11 to Sunday, July 26, except Monday, July 13 and Tuesday, July 21.
The event will be cancelled in case of inclement weather.

Ichikawa Alkekengi Market and Lantern Floating
Alkekengi, also known as the Chinese lantern for its resemblance to a lantern, is a popular decoration during Obon. Alkekengi plants will be sold at the market. A lantern-floating event is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 18.

2. Financial support for further studies of test takers from financially challenging households
The city will pay part of the fees for the university entrance exam, mock tests, and cram school for households with third-year junior high school or high school students （including those who have failed the entrance exam and are preparing for next year）. Support for university entrance fees is only provided to third-year high school students.
Applications are scheduled to begin on Sunday, November 1. Please keep receipts. For more details, please visit the Ichikawa City official website.
【Eligibility】
Persons aged 19 or younger who belong to one of the following households:
- Household in receipt of public assistance
- Households in receipt of child-rearing allowance
- Households with students who are eligible for school expense subsidies or high school student scholarship benefits
- Tax-exempt households
- Single-parent households raising minors where their household income is equivalent to public assistance

3. Beginners’ level life-saving lesson for elementary school students
Life-saving lessons are normally exclusive to junior high school-aged persons and older, but even younger students can learn valuable skills to save lives. Take this life-saving lesson designed for elementary school students to learn how to save the lives of your loved ones in case of an emergency. Participants will receive participants certificates of completion. For more information, please visit the Ichikawa City official website.
【Program】
Participants will learn cardiopulmonary resuscitation using an automated external defibrillator（AED）, see the inside of an ambulance and take photographs.
【Date and time】
Saturday, August 22 from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon.
【Venue】
Ichikawa Fire Bureau （Parking is not available.）
【Eligibility】
Grade 4, 5 and 6 students living or studying in Ichikawa City, and their guardians.
Up to eighteen pairs will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

4. Orientation for Foreign Residents
Chiba Prefecture is hosting orientation sessions to provide essential daily life information for foreign nationals living in Chiba Prefecture. 市川ほおずき市 とうろう流し
日本では 目印として お盆に ちょうちんを かざります。ほおずき市では ちょうちんに 形が 似ている ほおずきを 売ります。7月18日（土曜）午後7時から とうろう流しを 行います。

2. お金に よゆうがない 家庭の 子どもが さらに 上の 学校へ 行くための 支援（助けること）を します
中学3年生、高校3年生、浪人生の いる 世帯に、大学などを 受験（学校に 入るために しけんを 受けること）するための お金、模擬試験（学生の 力を はかるための 試験）を 受けるための お金、学習塾に 行くための お金の 一部を 市川市が 払います。申し込みは 11月1日（日曜）に 始まる 予定です。領収書は なくさないように してください。くわしい 情報は 市川市 公式 Webサイトを 見てください。

次の どれかの 世帯に 入る 20才みまんの 子ども
- 生活保護を 受けている 世帯
- 児童扶養手当を もらっている 世帯
- 対象児童（申し込みが できる 人）が 就学援助（学校で 勉強するための しえん）または 高校生等奨学給付金（学校へ 通うために 受け取る お金）を 受け取ることが できる 世帯
- 非課税世帯（住民税を 払う 必要がない 世帯）

3. 小学生のための 救命入門コース（じこや びょうきで 人の 命が きけんな ときに できることを 学びます）
救命（人の 命を すくうこと）講習（なにかを 学ぶこと）を 受けることが できるのは 中学生からです。しかし、小学生にも 命を すくうために できることは たくさん あります。
小学生のための 救命入門コースを 受けて 家族や 友達の 命を 守りましょう。コースを 受けた 人は 参加証（参加したことを 書いた 紙）を もらうことが できます。くわしい 情報は 市川市 公式 Webサイトを 見てください。

AEDを使った しんぱいそせい法（いきを していない 人を 助ける 方法）を 学びます。救急車の 中を 見ます。写真を とります。

4. 外国人のための 生活オリエンテーション
千葉県では 千葉県に住んでいる 外国人のために、生活に 必要な 決まりや情報を 知ることができる 生活オリエンテーションを 行います。オリエンテーションは 2回 行いますが どちらか1回だけでも 参加できます。
